Privacy-Policy
We have created this privacy policy to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy and the protection of your
information.
Why did you receive a mailing from us?
Our email marketing is permission based. If you received a mailing from us, our records indicate that (a) you have
expressly shared this address for the purpose of receiving information in the future (“opt-in”), or (b) you have
registered or purchased or otherwise have an existing relationship with us. We respect your time and attention by
controlling the frequency of our mailings.
If you believe you have received unwanted, unsolicited email sent via this system or purporting to be sent via this
system, please forward a copy of that email with your comments to info@schoolofdanceandmusic.com for
review.
How can you stop receiving email from us?
Each email sent contains an easy, automated way for you to cease receiving email from us, or to change your expressed
interests. If you wish to do this, simply reply to the Email with the word “Unsubscribe”.
How we protect your privacy
We use appropriate security measures to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of data used by our system.
Sharing and Usage
We will never share, sell, or rent individual personal information with anyone for their promotional use without your
advance permission or unless ordered by a court of law. Information submitted to us is only available to employees
managing this information for purposes of contacting you or sending you emails based on your request for information,
or important school reminders.
Sign-In with Google and Sign-In with Apple
The Family Portal at portal.schoolofdanceandmusic.com offers “Sign in with Google” and “Sign in with Apple” as
convenient ways for parents and staff to access their account. When you choose to sign in with either provider, the
following applies.
What Google or Apple user data we access
We use Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In strictly for authentication. The provider sends us a one-time,
cryptographically signed “id token” containing only basic profile information from your account: your verified email
address (Google provides this directly; Apple may provide a real email or a private “Hide My Email” relay address, in
which case sign-in is refused), your first name and last name if present on your account (Google only; Apple only
sends a name on the very first sign-in and we do not retain it), and a stable account identifier from the provider
(the OpenID “sub” claim).
We do not request and do not have access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google
Calendar, Google Contacts, iCloud, Apple Mail, Apple Calendar, or any other Google or Apple service or data. The
Family Portal has no API access to your Google or Apple account beyond reading the contents of the sign-in token
described above.
How we use this data
The verified email address from your Google or Apple sign-in is compared against the email we already have on file for
you in our existing student and family records. If the email matches an existing account, a session is created and
you are signed in. If the email does not match — or, for Apple, if it is a private “Hide My Email” relay address —
sign-in is refused and a generic error is shown.
We do not use Google or Apple sign-in data for marketing, profiling, advertising, training any
artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model, or for any purpose other than identifying you at sign-in.
How we store, transfer, or share this data
We do not store your Google or Apple account identifier, first name, last name, or any other profile data from the
provider in our database. The verified email is used only in memory, during the sign-in request itself, to look up
your existing account. Once sign-in succeeds, the resulting session is bound to your existing School of Dance and
Music account record — not to your Google or Apple identity. If you stop using Google or Apple Sign-In, nothing about
that Google or Apple account remains in our system.
We do not sell, rent, transfer, or share Google or Apple user data with any third party. Google or
Apple user data is not transferred to any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning provider and is not used to
train any model.
Limited Use compliance (Google)
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy,
including the Limited Use
requirements.
How to disconnect
You can revoke our access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. You can manage Sign in with
Apple access at appleid.apple.com under “Sign in with Apple”. You may also
continue to sign in to the Family Portal via the email magic-link option, which does not involve Google or Apple at
all.
