A Special Note specifically to our Ballet/Tap/Jazz 5-7yr old students:
It is almost show time! Our June Dance Recital is being held on June 6th-8th at the Redondo Performing Arts Center (1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Redondo Beach, CA 90278).
We wanted to send your specific group a few reminders for those with us in past recitals :
Your dancer has graduated from our “Jr. Showcase” (for younger classes) and is now performing in our “Mini Show” format.
The “Mini Shows” last between 45-60 min and run 1 group after the other like a usual dance show (not in 10 minute segments like the “Jr. Showcase”)
- Please arrive 60-70 min before your show time so you have time to find parking : ) Make sure to arrive with your child already dressed in their costume and makeup (light stage makeup is optional)
- Upon arrival please bring your dancers to the doors to the left of the lobby that connects to the back stage to check them in with their class volunteer. Once the class has arrived their teacher will do a quick choreography check to make sure they can find their dots on stage etc.
- If you would like to help volunteer (optional) please let us know this week. You will stay with the class the entire time and watch the performance from the wings on stage.
- After their performance (this could be right after or after a few routines depending on their teachers schedule) they will be brought to watch the rest of the show with their class in the auditorium at a specific section that we will show you at arrival. (We do ask you to not stand up during the show as there are other parents watching their own child perform) We would love for them to see the remainder of the show at their class seats, however, if you really must check them out earlier, please please do not stand up during a performance.
Last, reminder to avoid lines on the day of the show and to avoid the extra $5 surcharge, please purchase your tickets ahead of time (schoolofdanceandmusic.com/tix). All tickets are non-refundable so please do not lose your tickets (the wristband is good for the entire weekend) as there are no replacements for them.
