In the News: 3/1/10 - Ballet Company
is putting on its 2nd annual performance, this year presenting...
2010 marks the 10th year since the School of Dance & Music’s opening in the South Bay. School directors Dan & Liliana Galitzen are very excited about this milestone and are awarding a total of $10,000 in dance and music lesson scholarships to say a big “thank you” and to continue their part in encouraging and supporting the arts in the community. The scholarships will be awarded based on an essay contest that is open to the public and has age categories ranging from 3 years old to adults. All one needs to apply for a scholarship is to have a love of dance or music and to be able to express that appreciation for learning the arts in a short essay. The school’s motto is to “Give students of all ages the skills to enjoy dance and music for a lifetime”. School director Galitzen thought this essay contest would be a great way to further our mission.” Galitzen also states, “Whether a student studies dance or music with us for joy or as a stepping stone to a profession in the arts, we would ultimately love our students to apply what they learn in the dance studio or music room to success in their studies, their jobs, their relationships, and their lives.” The school hopes the essay contest brings further awareness to the arts in our community and the lifelong benefits it provides. The deadline for the scholarship essay submission is February 28th, 2010. Full details on how to enter are available at The School of Dance & Music studios (1151 Aviation Blvd., Hermosa Beach 90254 or 633A N. Pacific Coast Hwy., Redondo Beach, 90277), and can also be viewed by clicking the links below... *UPDATE 3/18/10: Contest Winners Announced! To view PDF version of the article that was featured
